The Sand Dunes

We went to the Sand dunes in Southern Colorado last weekend with the Elmores. We had such a great trip. We also learned a few things to do and not to do and that some things just can't be helped, like getting sand everywhere when kids are involved. We learned NOT to take 7 kids and only 4 adults to a nice sit down restaraunt after they have been sitting in the car for 2 and half hours. We learned TO pack extra clothes to change into once everything else is wet and sandy. We learned that you can't have too much food, we got to eat the left over candy and goodies all week long to remind us of the trip. We learned that muddy buddies make for a good road trip snack, especially when you know the car is going to get dirty anyway. We were reminded that babies are the easiest to travel with. We learned TO get to the continental breakfast early so that we can get the good stuff before it is gone. We also learned that a weekend of sun, sand, yummy food, and good friends does wonders for the spirits.
