Estes Park

We went to Estes Park with Kelly and Gaylene(Brent's parents)
at the end of July and had such a wonderful time.
It was fun to have them to ourselves and to get away all at the same time.
I took far too many pictures and will post my favorites but be warned there are alot.
Thus another reason why I delay posting for so long.

Sienna got tired on our hike and so Papa offered to carry her.
She was ecstatic.

The waterfall we hiked to see.



The chipmunk was fascinating to Sisi.
She stared at it forever and he seemed to have a never ending supply
of food in his chubby cheeks.


Don't you just love how happy they all look. I do.
It makes me happy to just see the joy in their faces.




This is us on the cog railway up to Pikes Peak.
The kids loved it the whole way up and enjoyed seeing the wildlife.
Ayla was a handful and pretty much screamed the entire time.
The other kids joined in once we were at the top because it was so cold.
We ate at the little cafe and took some pictures of us at over 14,000 feet.
It was fun to do something that we have been wanting to do for so long
and even better to do it with family.



And this is at the summit.
We were lucky to get the pictures we did
and that they turned out since the kids were so uncooperative.
I will not post the ones of them crying but I am sure you can imagine...



We went to the Butterfly Pavilion in Denver on our way home.
It reminded me a ton of the exhibit
that the Franklin Conservatory had when we were in Ohio.
It had a ton of hands on stuff for the kids and they loved it.
There was a touch tank with Sea life and passport booklets
that the kids got to stamp in when they visited each exhibit.
They all held the tarantula except for me.
Brent really wanted me to do it but it just was not worth
the nightmares I am sure that would have followed that night.
I was proud of the kids for doing it .




This butterfly landed right on Hunter's pants
and stayed there long enough for me to get several pictures.
Hunter didn't dare move for fear it would fly away.
